Dr. Katharine Christian, DMD

Katharine Christian, DMD, is an exceptional general dentist and dental sleep medicine specialist practicing at Snoring & Sleep Apnea Center located in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Christian is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, the most renowned academy in this field, and she has achieved the highest level of certification available. She studied and practiced with some of the leading experts in dental sleep medicine and is eager to use her skills to give you the best possible care.

Dr. Christian was born and raised in a small town on the Central Coast of California. She attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo before moving across the country to Boston to earn her dental degree at Tufts University. Since moving to Seattle in 2004, Dr. Christian has had extensive training in treating sleep apnea with oral devices while also owning and running her own dental practice.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Center was one of the only institutions accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AADSM) in the state of Washington. (This certification is no longer being offered by the AADSM) There, Dr. Christian routinely treats conditions like insomnia, sleep apnea, TMJ, and snoring. She can prescribe treatments like laser snoring treatment, oral appliance therapy, and TMJ therapies.

Outside of the office, Dr. Christian and her husband enjoy a relaxed lifestyle in West Seattle. When she's not making her patients feel better, she can be found gardening, reading, and chasing after her two beautiful, sweet, active kids.

Our New Name

The Story Behind The Sleep & TMJ Group

We are excited to announce Dr. Christian has expanded her areas of Board certification and expertise. As a result, we have increased our available services, and we’re changing the name of the practice to reflect our growth.

While The Sleep & TMJ Group’s primary focus will remain obstructive sleep apnea and snoring treatment through oral appliance therapy, Dr. Christian has become Board certified in Orofacial Pain. We now see patients for issues

related to Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) as well as muscle pain, jaw and facial movement disorders such as clenching and grinding of the teeth, nerve pain and headaches.

If you haven’t been in for a while, we’d love to see you and tell you more about our changes!

We are currently in-network with AETNA, Premera, United Healthcare, First Choice & Kaiser Access, and as of May 1st, 2023, we are in-network with Regence.
